Mr. Titus Polukuu , Upper West Regional TEIN Coordinator, Inaugurates Tumu Midwifery TEIN
On Sunday 27th October, 2019 the Upper West Deputy Regional Youth Organiser in charge of operations Mr. Titus Polukuu , who also doubles as the TEIN Coordinator inaugurated the Tumu Midwifery TEIN under the Theme: "Victory 2020, The Role Of TEIN Ladies". The TEIN Coordinator with the support of his able deputies, Mr. Joseph Amewugah Appau, Miss Ayisha Salifu Dajan and the TEIN Administrator, Mr Joseph Banye executed their job impeccably.
The programme was massively attended by students, representatives of the two parliamentary candidates for Sissala West and East, an appreciable number of constituency executives both former and current. The former DCE, Hon John Sabohr, was the chairman for the occasion.
The patron welcomed all and sundry and also assured the regional executives that they will continue to organise programmes to encourage and motivate TEIN members so that the spirit of the party will be deeply engrain in them.
The TEIN president who is very committed and hardworking delivered a powerful and heart touching speech stating the struggles she and her executives are going through to ensuring that TEIN is vibrant and appealing for more students to join. She said, "The Tumu Midwifery TEIN served as a motivational icon to our young sisters out there who have the interest in politics but were being scared away by stereotyping and inferiority complex, this suggests the reason for our choice of the Theme "the role of TEIN ladies for victory 2020".
She also made a clarion call on leadership to constantly encourage and motivate them in any way to work hard and effectively. She said, "I therefore count on my able regional and constituency executive secretariat to help speak to my dear midwifery trainees in order to boost their morale in political activities".
Our biggest challenge is finance. "Members of the institution were reluctant in paying sester dies, due to that there was not much money in the institution's coffers to be used in running semester programmes. In fact, this has led to poor turn up of members for even general meetings organised by executive board in the semesters".
The president again called on leadership to pay heed to them so that they don't feel abandoned. She stated, "we are very powerful and we have a lot to offer but we sometimes feel abandoned by the constituency executives probably because we are ladies". She made a plea to leadership to provide them with branded T-shirts that will distinguish them from others so that others will be attracted to join the party.
The representatives of the two parliamentary candidates passionately called on the beautiful and hardworking ladies to work relentlessly so that NDC will come to power and post them immediately after they complete school. They recounted the hell trained nurses are going through in the hands of Nana Addo. They said, " in less than a month some of your seniors were manhandled by police simply because they were exercising their legitimate constitutional right so that they could be employed as citizens of the country.
The constituency youth organiser popularly called Cadet, charged the fresh, beautiful and elegant ladies to continue to work hard so that NDC will come to power and save the good people of this country. He told the ladies to call on the constituency executives when they have any challenge.
Mr. Titus Polukuu the regional TEIN Coordinator, assured the president and the TEIN members that leadership of the youth secretariat is poised to go every length to ensure that TEIN is powered adequately so that they can work comfortably and conveniently to bring NDC back to power in the 2020 elections.
The former DCE, Hon John Sabohr, who doubled as the chairman for the occasion passionaly recounted how he worked for the party and the way his reward came. "I worked hard for the party and as I was working people were monitoring how I was sacrificing for the party. So when we won power and I applied for the DCE position, the party gave it to me. I didn't see and third person to lobby for me. I just applied and sat back with the hope that if it is mind, I will get it". He said this to encourage TEIN members and others to work for the party with all their heart. The former DCE told the students that "this government has woefully failed Ghanaians and NDC is the best option now to salvage Ghanaians from our current predicaments. You need to conduct yourselves very well and work hard".
The constituency and the regional team proceeded to the Tumu Teacher Training College of Education to welcome the fresh men and ladies into the TEIN fraternity.
The patron and his executives warmly welcomed the team as the programme kick started. The hall was fully packed as some students could not find seats to sit on.
The president who was admitted at the Tumu hospital left her sick bed to organise and participate that fantastic programme, an incident that is very uncommon among many teaming youth in the party.
She read a brief but powerful speech that captured the numerical strength of TEIN in their institution as one of their achievements. Their relationship with constituency and regional executives is solid. Her speech also stated the secret behind the sharp increase in membership. She said the executive board comprises persons of high integrity, very humble and highly respectful hence their ability to easily associate with any student on campus.
Mr. Joshua Dery, the deputy communication officer for Lawra, the PRO of the youth secretariat and regional communication team member, updated the students on some of the scandals such the PDS deal exposing the corrupt, wicked and deceitful attitude of Nana Addo and the NPP that is sinking the prospect of the country. He painstakingly explained why Ghanaians are experiencing excruciating hardship under the leadership of the corrupt clearing agent, Nana Addo.
Mr. Derbie Raphael, the deputy youth organiser for Nandom and a member of the regional communication team, took the students through the position of NDC on the Free Senior High School policy and what JM seeks to do as soon as he is sworn in as president of the Republic of Ghana after the 2020 elections. He asked the students what they are going through as teacher trainees under Nana Addo and their response was that they are regretting voting Nana Addo and the NPP into power. He started mentioning the various professions and the students response was, "are regretting". It went like this, students are regretting, teachers are regretting, nurses are regretting, farmers are regretting, etc.
The regional deputy TEIN Coordinator, Mr. Joseph Amewugah Appau, took the students through the role of TEIN in the 2020 election. He entreated them to avail themselves for the party's activities so that NDC will win the election. He assured them of any support and called on them to work hard to consolidate winning of JM and NDC in the 2020 election.
The regional TEIN Coordinator, Mr Titus Polukuu, commended the executives for their hard work and charged them never to relent in their effort to ensuring victory in the 2020 elections.
The regional team visited the president on her sick bed in the hospital the day after the programme. The team prayed for her and wished her speedy recovery.
