Eric Sagraza popularly call Jamaica, was a very popular young man full of vigour and passion for work especially NDC activities. He was such a loving and caring young man, the reason why he has lots of friends across the country.
We were served a letter which informed us the death of his mother, Mrs Edith Sagraza, and the funeral arrangement. As we prepare to attend the funeral on Saturday, exactly a week today, we were told he was taken ill and admitted at the Nandom St. Theresa's hospital. We thought it was stress and hoped that he was going to be better the next day.
On Saturday we got to the funeral ground and could not see him so we started asking his where about and were told that he was still on admission. At that instance, our mood changed.
We quickly rushed to the hospital to see him. Indeed, upon seeing Eric on his sick bed, we were very worried wish he could be transferred immediately to much bigger hospital but that did not happen.
On Sunday, we were told that he was airlifted to Akomfo Anokye hospital in Kumasi. We knew he would be treated there and be discharged as early as possible. Little did we know that things will get worst. On Monday morning, we started receiving unusual calls the breaking news was that Eric was no more. We were shocked and confused. In all sincerity, it was difficult for us to believe and we were hopeful that the story was untrue. We came here to satisfy our curiosity and truly truly Eric is gone forever. Oh! God!
Eric Sagraza was very passionate, enthusiastic and charismatic. He commanded lots of respect from many people because he was always honest and truthful. Eric was a lion who feared nothing. He will tell you the truth in your face without blinking his eyes. There was nobody who could intimidate or threaten him. He was a just man and would always fight for others, what was truly theirs. He never hated anybody. If you offend him, he would tell you his peace of mind and that is all.
He was political icon and an epitome of modern days politics in Nandom constituency and beyond. Eric was a political strategist. He had the political language and anytime he speaks, many becomes convinced. A very glaring attitude of him was that he has never lost any argument because he argued with facts and envidence.
Eric Sagraza, a very brilliant young man, was splendid in analysing issues particularly political issues. He takes his time read the game. He has mastered the dynamics of modern days politics and that conferred on him an uncommon experiences.
Eric Sagraza we all knew was a workaholic. He works without getting tire. Sometimes until he is done with whatever tasks he had, he wouldn't have time for food. His actions and inactions won him a lot of accolades. He had a of admirers, the reason why everybody is shedding unvontrollable tears. Eric indeed carved an eviable accodes for himself. Eric was a principled young man who always apportion his time for his activities. He never wasted time because he believed that time is money.
Naturally Eric has a loud but deep voice so he could not speak in a low tone on any discussion whether good or bad. He was also a strong man and so anytime he speaks or argues he does that with vigour, the reason why others think he was aggressive.
Eric was humble, respectful and charismatic. These attributes of his among others attracted multitude of the people to join NDC in Nandom. He had a vision and it was to give Dr. Richard Kuuire and the NDC a resounding victory in the 2020 election. Indeed, it is very sad he is no more with us but his vision and determination to achieve this vision is still alive and will come to pass. We believe that is what will comfort Eric wherever he is now.
Eric! Eric! Eric! Get up and come. Where you are sleeping now is not your room. You are too young to be there. We are waiting for you. We can not control our tears. Erica and Yebrnuo are calling you. Respond to their call. Get up and let's go home. It is clear that God has planned to take you back at the time it happened. You were born on 23rd November, 1977 and you have been buried on 23rd November, 2019. This means that the day you were brought forth on this planet earth is the same day you have sent into the grave. Today marked exactly your forty-two years. Your mother died at eighty-four and you died at half her age. This means a lot. God actually knows why He did that.
Eric, rest in peace. We needed you but our creator needed you more than we do. We have taken solace in the legacies you left behind. We will forever remember you for your honesty, respect, humbleness, hardwork, sincerity, generosity and your braver attitudes. Rest in the bosom of the Lord and prepare the place for us. Fare you well. Bye bye.
