Raphael Derbie Celebrates a Global Icon

"Achievements are precious and timeless, just like the precious metal platinum. And what better way to celebrate milestones in your life than with precious platinum". Vijender Singh. It is worthy to celebrate the life and rare achievements of a man who rose steadily from grass to grace. A man, born and bread at the holy village of Sombo has served as a projector that magnifies the quality human resource Upper West Region and Ghana as a whole is blessed with. He had a big vision since his childhood. Though he faced many stumbling blocks, he didn't allow them to bar him from focusing on his vision. Whilst he worked hard to realising his dream, he patiently waits on God to unfold His blessings one after the other. He was focused and determined. He persevered and didnt allow his ambition to be derialed by impedements that came his way.

His life has been a model to many teeming youth. He has been an epitome of hope to a lot of people and Ghana at large. His demonstrates an unmatched intelligence. This man is very principled but humble. His humility has no boundaries. He has time for everybody. Even as of now, he makes time out of his busy schedules to swiftly respond to calls and messages and also partakes in discussions on social media platforms. It does not matter your status - rich or poor, educated or uneducated, young or old, beautiful or ugly, he listens to you. It is the reason why he knows all the challenges and problems confronting his constituents; this informs his plans to addressing these issues. All he does is being guided by high ideals and his unfliching devotion to duty makes his strategies and works most efficient and productive.

The ability of this visionary man to solve the problems of his constituents made him the longest serving member of parliament in Ghana and beyond. The selfishless services rendered by this man to his people elevated him to an enviable position - No.3, at the time that Ghana's parliament has an unprecedented equal numerical strength from both sides of the house. God's time is indeed the best. It is conspicuous that no other person could have better occupied the No. 3 position either than he who rose through the rank and file of the political ladder.

Rt. Hon. Speaker, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagin, is an embodiment of knowledge and experience.  Mr. Speaker, your unique career teaches many a luminious lesson, and we the youth hope to model our actions by the noble examples you set. Your examplary life is worth emulation.

I must admit that I admire your humility and respect, and your willingness to share your rich experiences with the youth. In all my encounter with you, you do devote your time taking us through your political experiences, history and the changing trends of events in the country. The alacrity with which you guide and advice the youth is commendable. Your superior knowledge on issues and your unique skills of analysing them, leaves much to be desired. No youth sits with you and go back as he or she came. I spend days to digest your speech anytime I encounter you. Your words are piercing arrows that piers through the hearts of every listeners.  They guide, they inform, they direct our lives on daily basis particularly in the game of politicking.

Mr. Speaker, grammatical construction is not enough to exhaust this eulogy. It is my prayer and hope that God extend your life span and continue to guide you as you untiringly render selfless services to the people of this country. As today marks your birthday, it is appropriate I spare sometime to add my voice by lacing these words together in expressing my best wishes and felicitations to you on your milestone. Happy birthday to you. Rath once said,  ..."we must find ways to celebrate people's lives and contributions while they are still alive. We need far more celebrations of life . . . even before people know they are dying",
