Dr. Richard Kuuire, the NDC parliamentary candidate for Nandom, yesterday, met with the Nandom residents living in Wa to discuss his strategic vision for the Nandom development. The gathering, which featured high-profile personalities such as Sir Dr. GyaDer, Hon. Ken Kuufaa, Hon. Lawyer Kale Caesar, Hon. Peter Lanchene-Wa West MP, Chairman Philemon Wein, Hon. Cuthbert Baba Kuupiel, Mr. Thomas Mwinbahaare, Mr. Prosper Puo-ire among others, focused on addressing key areas of concern including youth employment, education, agriculture, and women's empowerment.
Dr. Kuuire emphasized the commitment of the NDC to creating sustainable job opportunities for the youth in Nandom. Recognizing the high unemployment rates among young people, he outlined NDC's plans to foster local businesses and attract investments that would lead to job creation. "Our youth are our future," Dr. Kuuire stated, "and it is imperative that we provide them with the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in today's economy."
Education also took center stage in Dr. Kuuire's address. He highlighted the declining standards of education in the Nandom constituency and proposed comprehensive measures to deal with it.
In discussing agricultural improvements, Dr. Kuuire pointed to the vast potential of Nandom's agrarian economy. He emphasized the NDC's promise to support farmers with modern farming techniques, access to markets, and financial assistance to boost productivity and profitability. "Agriculture remains the backbone of our economy," he said, "and by modernizing our practices, we can significantly improve the livelihoods of our farmers."
Women's empowerment was another critical issue addressed by Dr. Kuuire. He outlined initiatives aimed at enhancing the socio-economic status of women in Nandom, including microfinance programmes, skills training, and support for female entrepreneurs. "Empowering women is not just a moral imperative but a socio-economic necessity," he asserted. "When women succeed, families and communities thrive."
The meeting in Wa was well-received by the Nandom residents, who expressed their support and optimism for Dr. Kuuire's candidacy. His comprehensive and inclusive approach to addressing the constituency's challenges resonated strongly with the audience, many of whom voiced their desire for change and development.
Dr. Kuuire concluded by reiterating his dedication to the people of Nandom and his vision of a prosperous and inclusive constituency. "Together, we can transform Nandom into a hub of opportunity and development," he declared. "Let's work hand in hand to achieve the progress we all desire."
As the presidential and parliamentary elections approach, Dr. Kuuire's engagement with the Nandom residents in Wa marks a significant step in his campaign, showcasing his commitment to listening to the concerns of his constituents and working collaboratively towards a brighter future for all.
Chairman Philemon Wein called on Nandome whose votes are elsewhere to transfer their votes home starting from 30th May - 14th June, 2024 and for John Mahama the father and Dr. Richard Kuuire the son to build the Nandom we want.
Hon. Cuthbert Baba Kuupiel chronicled some of the achievements of NDC in Nandom. He said the creation of the Nandom district, tarred road from Babile to Baselebe, the current Police Station, the current Fire Service Station, the Midwifery Training College, schools blocks among others were some of the things he catalogued. He also reiterated that he and his uncle (Dr. Richard Kuuire) are one and are working together to win the seat. He called on all and sundry to join the campaign trail to be part of the success story.
Hon. Peter Lanchene told the people how wise and lucky they are. He said so because they voted for the current MP and his father to develop Nandom. He added that NDC is winning from all indication and so he knows that as wise as the people of are, Dr. Richard Kuuire will be given the nod to partner John Mahama to continue with the development of Nandom. He assured Nandome of his constant support to make Dr. Richard Kuuire the MP. He said so because he had had personal interaction with him at the time they didn't know each. He said Dr. Richard Kuuire is such a humble and hard working personality who is development oriented.
The Regional Organiser Thomas Mwinbahaare told the people not to be left out from the second John Mahama's government. He emphasized that Dr. Richard Kuuire's time is now and Nandome should vote him to partner John Mahama to build the Nandom we want.
Hon. Lawyer Caesar Kale told Nandome the great opportunities that await them when Dr. Richard Kuuire is made the MP for Nandom in the coming elections.
The chairman for the programme Sir Dr. GyaDer bemoaned how terrible the education system in Nandom Municipality has fallen in the past eight years and the need to re-think on how to improve upon it.
He called on the people of Nandom to reflect on their children education and how they are feeling now and then make an informed decision comes December 7 2024. He thanked the people for coming out in their numbers to making the programme a success.
